According to a post by Michael Taft, "New neuroscience research shows that the part of the brain that responds to art is the same part that evaluates items of evolutionary importance, such as potential mates and agreeableness of food."
Basically, your opinion of the latte, your neighbor, and the Mona Lisa will all depend upon the same part of your brain. This, in my opinion, proves that art is as important as food, which is in turn as important as finding love.
Perhaps this explains my longing to have a Valentine's date where a certain attractive male and I paint while having snow cones...
